The scope of work performed by Integrated Electric Inc. includes traffic signal construction and maintenance, fiber optic design and installation, intelligent transportation system installations, site lighting, roadway lighting, traffic control services, and underground utility installation, specifically directional boring, storm sewer, sanitary sewer, water, gas, electric and telecommunications.
Integrated Electric Inc. was founded in 2001 by Tom Blount, President and C.E.O. of Western Signal Inc., a distributorship with an operating base covering the tri-state territory of Colorado, Utah and Wyoming. Prime Contractor-Integrated Electric Inc.
This three-year traffic signal systems maintenance contract, with a cumulative value in the one-million dollar range, consists of providing upgrades and modifications to the existing traffic signals, video detection, fiber optic communication system and components, new construction, quarterly and annual inspection services, and twenty-four hour on-call emergency services for approximately ninety intersections.
Utah Department of Transportation
Partnering by Integrated Electric Inc. and Western Signal Inc.
Western Signal Inc. successfully engaged the Utah Department of Transportation in a three-year $.5 million dollar contract to provide UDOT with Wavetronix™ certified systems. Integrated Electric Inc., partnering with Western Signal Inc., is assisting UDOT by providing system integration and turn-on services.
UDOT utilizes Wavetronix™ SmartSensor™ Model 105 for above-ground highway mid-block detection and SmartSensor Advance™ Model 200 for above-ground intersection dilemma zone detection. Wavetronix™ Click!™ Connectivity Solutions were also utilized to enhance data collection and integrate into the existing network.
This on-going project encompasses approximately eighty miles of roadway between Provo and Ogden, Utah. The Wavetronix™ devices were integrated into an existing fiber optic system and installed at stand-alone sites.

Ryan Blount, President, joined Integrated Electric Inc. in 2002. In addition to Ryan’s extensive transportation background, he also served eight years within the United States Military, specifically within the Army Criminal Investigation Division. Ryan has undergone extensive training at the Federal Law Enforcement Academy, Federal Bureau of Investigations Academy, and the Defense Acquisition University. During Ryan’s term of federal service, he led a nationwide investigation into government credit card fraud, led a criminal task force on environmental crime, and created the logistics, security, and economic crimes branch for the United States Army. Ryan majored in criminal justice at Colorado State University. Ryan’s broad background and intensive knowledge of both the transportation industry and the United States Military give him the necessary strengths required to take full advantage of immediate and future opportunities available within these markets.
The management team of Integrated Electric Inc. has a combined history of almost one hundred years experience within the specialty contracting industry. The Integrated Electric Inc. workforce is comprised of numerous employees who are IMSA certified in Work Zone Traffic Control, several IMSA certified Traffic Signal Level II’s, an IMSA certified Traffic Signal Level III, and a registered Professional Engineer.
